Changeover Night 2017

On a gala night of fun and friendship, 79 members, guests, family and friends gathered at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club on June 27th to celebrate a year of achievement for the club and welcome new leadership.

Masterfully MC'd by the eloquent and entertaining Ian Salek, speakers included District Governor Neville John, President Carol Benson and President-Elect Richard Blakeman. In line with the new Rotary International theme, the evening highlighted the many ways that Rotary 'makes a difference' in the world.

Paul Harris Fellow Recognitions were awarded to six very deserving recipients, Mark Ellis, Charles Tran, Lynette Spencer (in absentia), Robert Winspear and Michael Hills, of RC of Glenferrie, and Peter Stewart of the RC of Kew.

The dining room looked a treat, thanks to the superb efforts of Ian Salek and Thelma Hutchison. 'Video Jockey' and computer whiz-kid Chamil Fernando oversaw a movie-photo-music display that drove home the message and meaning of Rotary. In an atmosphere of energy, celebration and optimism,  revellers enjoyed the superb cuisine, service and facilities of the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club on a night to remember.

A full report will be appear in the next full edition of the Glenferrie Bulletin, out next week.
