Plant a Tree with Glenferrie Rotary - October 8th

Rotary International President Highlights Environment

                                         Rotary International President, Australian Ian Riseley, has called upon Rotarians the world over to priotise the environment amongst Rotary programs.

In answer to the call to plant  more than 1.2 million trees, one for every Rotarian, The Rotary Club of Glenferrie will join with the Rotary Clubs of Hawthorn, Kew and Yarra Bend to plant trees at Hays Paddock, Leason Street Kew on Sunday October 8th 2017.

  The Boroondara Farmers' Market is a joint project of the Rotary Club of Glenferrie and the City of Boroondara for the benefit of the community

Blood Pressure Testing for Stroke Week

                             Stroke Week highlights the common causes of stroke that lead to disability for over 12,000 Victorians each year. Testing of blood pressure can prevent strokes and save lives.

Glenferrie Rotary will assist the Stroke Foundation with blood pressure testing as part of our Farmers’ Market on Saturday 30th September 2017.  A fully qualified nurse, will conduct all of the free testing.

Have your Blood Pressure tested at our next Farmers’ Market, Patterson Reserve, Auburn Road between 9.00 am and 12 noon.

Boroondara Cares - CHANCES Scholarships Program

Boroondara Cares Foundation celebrated 10 years of the CHANCES Scholarship Program on August 17th 2017, showcasing talented CHANCES scholarship recipients past and present. Representatives of the Boroondara Rotary Clubs, the Council, other community representatives, the State Member for Hawthorn John Pesutto MP and former scholarship recipients gathered at Swinburne University to hear of the enormous success of the program since inception.

Volunteers wanted for the Rotary Fair Trade and Charity Shop

Located at the rear of 654 Burke Road in Camberwell, the Kew Rotary Fair Trade and sustainability store is always on the look out for volunteers. We are run by volunteers and there is always so much to do! Anyone with a spare few hours on their hands is welcome to apply. Previous retail experience is appreciated but not expected. Anyone with an appreciation of reading 📖 or visual merchandising is also appreciated. Come in store to express your interest or leave a message here. Hope to see you soon!!!
